Xi Nu Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi The Xi Nu Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met March 17 at Katy O'Ferrell's Publick House in Cape Girardeau. Seven members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were approved. Tammy Hahs reported on the recent Beta Sigma Phi state convention meeting. The group then discussed ideas for the chapter's responsibilities for the convention. Members will gather to watch the movie "South Pacific" in the coming weeks. The next meeting will be on April 7 at the home of Sandy Ross. Torchbearer Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi The Torchbearer Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at the home of Marsha Parrish. President Linda Belote presided. Patty Taylor, who will join the chapter, attended the meeting. It was announced the Cape Girardeau Senior Center is in need of items for its Thrift Store. Belote reported that she has received the Founders Day packet from International in Kansas City, Missouri. The Founders Day all-chapter banquet will be held on April 30. An officers' election will be held at the next meeting, so members are encouraged to to attend. Joyce Hays read from the Book of Beta Sigma Phi and also reported on an article in the "Torch" magazine of a new magazine called "Yellow Roses." The magazine will be published in the spring and fall of the year. Beta Sigma Phi will be highlighted in the magazine with a full page article. To learn more, visit www.yellowrosesmagazine.com. The programs for the evening were "St. Patricks Day" by Marsha Parrish and "Did You Know" by Belote. A group participation exercise on relieving sinus headaches was held following the programs. Following the meeting, Dixie Jones held pledge training for new member Carole Rhodes. The next meeting will be at the home of Gwen Nussbaum.
