Members of the Missouri State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, traveled the El Camino Real Trail ("The Kings Highway") on March 10, recognizing the 100th anniversary of the placing of the markers by the DAR.
The markers are located in Caruthersville, New Madrid, Sikeston, Benton, Scott City, Cape Girardeau, Perryville, Ste. Genevieve and Kimswick.
Susan Perez, president of the Scott City Historic Preservation Commission and board members were present and recognized for their work in Scott City and at the Scott City Historial Museum.
State regent Susan Bowman, recording secretary general Morgan Lake and Trails Committee Chairman Lemira Parks, vice president general, among other state chairmen, followed the day-long trail visit.
Kage FCE met March 9 at Chateau Girardeau. Twelve members and one visitor, Sharon Aldridge, a former member, attended. Members played a St. Patrick's Day game: Can you rhyme 12 words with green?
The tip was to sprinkle apple cider vinegar on cracks such as window sills to deter ants.
The March project was collection of items for Hope Children's Home.
Future activities are: All Clubs Day at the Extension Center March 27 and training session for programs on April 10 in Farrar, Missouri.
Marian Kramer, hostess, presented a program on genealogy.
