The Louis K. Juden American Legion Unit 63 Auxiliary met on Sept. 14.
Yearly dues are payable now. New members would be very welcome.
Awards were presented to Linda Kern for her poppy report and to Shirley Young for her scrapbook.
Cards and monetary gifts were announced for Gold Star members: Hester Gray, Mildred Varvell and Muriel Day.
Nov. 3 will be the post's annual ham and bean dinner. Details will be announced later.
Members were requested to bring items suitable for the Jefferson Elementary School Christmas shop to the next meeting, which will be on Oct. 12.
Seven members of the John Guild Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution attended the Southeast District Meeting held Sept. 18 in Dexter, Missouri. They were Denyce Schoemehl; Beth Biri, chapter vice regent; Cheryl Cook,​ state chairman transportation; ​Morgan Lake, recording secretary general; Julie Robinson, chapter regent​; ​Lorilee Short, state and chapter treasurer​; ​and Pam Johnson,​ chapter registrar.
​During the meeting, each chapter regent gave a report of the events of their chapter during the past year. State Regent Susan Bowman presented the awards won by the chapter.
​The meeting was conducted by Southeast District Director Brenda Yarbro from Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
