Nancy Hunter DAR

The Nancy Hunter Chapter DAR met Oct. 24, at the Cape Girardeau Public Library. The program, "Fifty Years of Looking Through a Lens," was presented by Ken Steinhoff.

The chapter met Nov. 14 at the library. Dr. Frank Nickell presented a program "Nancy Hunter Distinguished Women" including Marie Watkins Oliver who designed the Missouri state flag; Sadie Kent, the librarian for whom Kent Library at Southeast Missouri State University is named; and Mrs. Fred Groves who was also the president general of NSDAR; Nancy Ann Hunter for whom the chapter is named; and Mary Helen Fee who traveled extensively in the Philippines and wrote a book, "A Woman's Impression of the Phillippines as well as other well known former Chapter members.

The Dec. 12 meeting will be a luncheon with the lady veterans at the Missouri Veterans Home here in Cape Girardeau.
