Oak Ridge FCE
The October meeting Oak Ridge FCE Club was held at the home of Jackie Rutherford with Betty Dellinger, president, presiding over the meeting. Dellinger announced that the district meeting will be held at Poplar Bluff, Mo., and four Oak Ridge members will attend.
Mary Dee Ford presented the 2006 officers. They were voted on and accepted and will be installed at the December meeting.
It was decided to help a family of grandparents raising their grandchild with a food basket and a monetary gift.
The December project will be a care box sent to Christina Cook. She is stationed in Iraq.
Those helping with the birthday party at the nursing home are Carole Jo Byrd, Billie Criddle and Rutherford. Those helping at the Missouri Veterans Home are Jean Rehak, Nelda Crader and Dellinger.
More items were brought for the Elks Club Christmas baskets. The club has donated items totaling $350.
Thank-you notes were read from Byrd and the Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship Program.
The Xi Nu Phi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi attended the Preferential Tea on Oct. 24 at the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. Cookbooks were distributed.
A report on the chapter's Ways and Means project from the state convention was given.
A bonfire and wiener roast was held Oct. 29 at the home of Renee Hesselrode. Halloween secret pal gifts were exchanged.
