Cape Girardeau's Convention and Visitors Bureau director Terri Clark-Bauer, who was instrumental in attracting the Missouri State Harley Owners Group rally to Cape Gir-ardeau last summer, has resigned.

Clark-Bauer, whose resignation is effective May 31, has served as the CVB director since July 20, 1998.

"I enjoyed my work at the CVB, but I feel it is time to pursue new opportunities for professional growth," Clark-Bauer said.

Walter Denton will serve as the interim director.

"Obviously, we're getting into the summer season, and that's the top time for tourism," Denton said. "Anything we normally do in the summer we're going to try to keep doing.

"We've got a hard-working staff and we'll try to make sure things like boat dockings and the CVB building remain open during normal business hours."
