Cape Girardeau residents can visit city hall 24 hours a day online.
The city's Web site offers online applications for business licenses and liquor licenses and information about Vision 2020.
The address is www.showme.net/capecity.
By using the Internet, residents can save a trip to city hall, said City Manager Michael Miler. Applications can be printed from the computer and then completed. The applications still need to be completed manually and signed to be official.
Anyone with a question about the city can submit it via the Web site. Vision 2020 is also looking for ideas and suggestions for its strategic plan. A draft of the group's goals and vision statements are posed on the Web site.
The Internet offers another avenue for people to tell Vision 2020 organizers what they want Cape Girardeau to look like in the next 20 years, said Vision 2020 chairman Kathy Swan.
The city has been online for two years. The site includes information about the city, council agendas and minutes and descriptions of the city buildings and services.
