Cape Girardeau will hold a two-day workshop Feb. 15-16 on national building code requirements.

The city's inspection services division is sponsoring the workshop, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

Edward Wirtschoreck of the technical services department of Building Officials and Code Administrators (BOCA) will speak at the seminar.

The workshop, among other things, will review building plan requirements, fire resistant materials and construction requirements associated with the BOCA national code.

The goal is to educate contractors and code enforcement officials of new building requirements.

Cost of the seminar is $90 per person. The fee includes textbook, lunch and a snack. Anyone interested may register until Feb. 9 by calling the inspection office at (573) 334-4466.
