The Cape Girardeau Division of Planning Services will order additional prints of the citywide aerial photograph taken last December.

City Planner Kent Bratton said Monday that the extra prints will be ordered to meet public demand for the photographs.

"Response from the public, particularly businesses, has been good and we are out of the first order," Bratton said.

The photographs cover the entire city and some of the nearby area, including the Municipal Airport and Southeast Missouri Regional Port. Bratton said the photograph was taken at an altitude of 24,000 feet in order to get the entire area on one print.

The prints are available for $105 each, and persons interested can view a copy of the print at the office of the Division of Planning Services in City Hall, 401 Independence. Orders for prints may be placed at the office or by calling 334-4466.

Bratton said the aerial maps make a unique Christmas gift. "We were surprised at the number we sold for Christmas gifts last time, but it is pretty unique," he said.
