Solid waste customers looking to dispose of broken or unused computers, monitors, CD/DVD players, stereos and other electronic gear can bring it to a Cape Girardeau city e-waste recycling collection site from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Arena Park 4-H shelter. The Public Works Department will accept the items, which will be taken to the Midwest Recycling Center where they will be shredded and reprocessed into new items. The program helps keep hazardous material commonly found in electronic goods from being deposited in landfills and saves landfill space, said Jennifer Berry, public works administrative technician.
