The city recently has added two new police officers and a firefighter to their ranks.
Alvin Spencer, who formerly worked for the Cape Girardeau Police Department from October 1984 to November 1990, rejoined his old department after working as a special deputy with the U.S. Marshal's office in the Federal Building in Cape Girardeau.
William C. Kincade worked as a police officer in Charleston before being hired by the city. He is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and is originally from the Dexter area.
Both officers are undergoing a probationary period with field training officers for the next few weeks.
Todd Soong came to the Cape Girardeau Fire Department after working as a paramedic for the past six years in Arnold, Mo. He is married and has a year-old son.
Soong is stationed at Fire Station 2 while learning the skills of firefighting.
