Parking rules along two Cape Girardeau streets may change after tonight's meeting of the Cape Girardeau City Council.
The agenda for the Council's regular Monday night meeting includes ordinances changing parking regulations along Clark Avenue near its intersection with Broadway and West End Boulevard near its intersection with Broadway. On Clark Avenue the new regulations would take away some no parking zones in the area and add others. On West End Boulevard no parking zones would be established on each side of West End in the vicinity of its Broadway intersection.
The council will also vote on an ordinance acquiring property for the LaSalle Avenue project that will connect a new Interstate 55 interchange with Route W. A measure to enter an agreement with MoDOT to install non-interruptible power to 13 signalized intersections along Route K and Kingshighway will also be considered. The cost would be shared 50/50 by MoDOT and the city; the upgrades would allow the traffic signals at the intersections to continue operation during power outages.
A study session will be held at 5 p.m. and the council meeting will follow at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
