A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.
Friday will kick off a an official grand opening for Circuit City Store, located at 164 Siemers Drive in Cape Business Park in Cape Girardeau."The first 200 people in the store Friday and Saturday will receive a a free gift," said Glenn Flynn, manager of the local store.
People may also register for three large prizes, which will be presented at a later date. The prizes include a computer system, digital camcorder, and a 27-inch television set. Circuit City, a retailer of brand-name consumer electronics, personal computers, and household appliances, will be open seven days a week -- 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The local store will employ about 60 workers.
The local Circuit City Superstore occupies a free-standing, 17,000 square foot building.
