Church, family atop hierarchy

To the editor:

The recent series of articles on the history of the Area Wide United Way has been very good and certainly show the importance of this organization to the area. Unfortunately, I must clear up a mis-characterization of a statement attributed to me.

I spoke to the importance of giving back to the community by mentioning my involvement with the AWUW, in addition to my very active involvement with my church and my children's activities. Somehow, in print that became "community participation is just as important as his church and his three children ..."

For those who know me, no clarification is necessary. For those that don't, this does not represent the hierarchical priorities in my life.
