Six Cape Girardeau Central High School students have been named Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Commended students are Brent T. Felker, Ashley K. Hall, Kelly M. O'Neil, Tammy M. Parrish, Janie L. Propst, and Keith A. Russell.
Commended students placed among the top five percent of more than 1 million program entrants, but their qualifying test scores are slightly below the level required to continue in the 1992 competition for Merit Scholarships.
About 35,000 students throughout the nation were named Commended Students for their performance on the 1990 Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
