The Jackson Elks are making plans for its annual Christmas Basket Project. The Elks will be working with local groups in making this a community effort to help the needy. Last year more than 200 families were given a basic assortment of food items -- hams, canned food, toys, gloves, scarves, coats and diapers for families with small children...

The Jackson Elks are making plans for its annual Christmas Basket Project. The Elks will be working with local groups in making this a community effort to help the needy.

Last year more than 200 families were given a basic assortment of food items -- hams, canned food, toys, gloves, scarves, coats and diapers for families with small children.

This project will require a great deal of financial help. A goal of $4,000 is needed to make this a successful project. The lodge is presently conducting a fund-raising drive.

Members are asking local businesses and companies to help meet the goal. Individuals are also encouraged to make a donation.
