GRASSY -- Christian musicians, drama teams and entertainers will gather at Arrowhead Campgrounds near Grassy this weekend for Godstock '99.
The event is a weekend concert sponsored in part by WGCF radio station in Paducah, Ky. It is the first such weekend concert in the area.
Although the event is a fund raiser, it also shows that denominations can unite to celebrate and offer praise through song, organizers say.
At least 19 different entertainers are scheduled to perform, including Alisha Walther; the Rev. Fred Burgard, pastor of Faith E-Free Church; Charlotte Reed and Puppet Power; Lynwood Baptist Church's drama team; Kim Cunningham; and others.
Events begin at 7 p.m. Friday and again at 10 a.m. Saturday. At 7 p.m. Saturday, three area bands will perform in concert. Sunday morning events begin at 10 a.m. for Bible study and church services.
The campground is about an hour's drive from Cape Girardeau and 16 miles outside Marble Hill on Route Y.
