A business seminar based on biblical principles will be held Jan. 13 and 14 at the Holiday Inn in Cape Girardeau.

"Business by the Book" is aimed at making business decisions easier for owners, managers and other professional leaders.

The seminar is sponsored by the Christian Business Men's Committee of Cape Girardeau, which also sponsors the annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.

The two-day seminar, developed by Larry Burkett of Christian Financial Concepts Inc., includes lectures, discussions and case studies.

"I attended one in Chicago two years ago and thought it was something we should have in the area," said Jack Mehner of the Christian Business Men's Committee.

The topics for discussion include business partnerships, hiring and firing decisions, lending and borrowing decisions and long-range goals.

"It teaches the way God does business, which isn't always the way man does business," said Cliff Ford of the committee.

Business by the Book will be led by Don DeLozier, a former vice president of Georgia Federal Bank. DeLozier has more than 30 years experience in financial business.

Mehner said the seminar has never been conducted in the area before.

Registration fees are $140 for first-time applicants and $100 for alumnus. Seating is limited. The cost includes materials and a meal. For more information, contact Mehner at 334-9113 or Cliff Ford at 334-1313.
