A child endangerment investigation led to Scott County deputies discovering a methamphetamine lab east of Sikeston, Mo., according to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
Heather M. Siars, 26, of Sikeston, was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Siars is incarcerated in the Scott County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Walter said his office received a phone tip Sunday evening regarding a child endangerment situation east of Sikeston. When deputies and personnel from the Department of Social Service's Children's Division arrived to investigate, a search of the residence led to the discovery of suspected components required to manufacture methamphetamine, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, and a substance believed to be marijuana. Walter said there were three children living at the residence.
More may be charged in connection with the drug seizure, Walter said.
