JACKSON - The Jackson High School Cheerleaders recently returned from a National Cheerleaders association summer camp workshop. There, squad member Kari Ann Hayden received top recognition. She was selected a member of the NCA All American Team.
Hayden is a senior at Jackson High School. She is the daughter of Mike and Lori Hayden of Jackson and Ed and Sharon Meadows of Cape Girardeau.
The workshop was held at Southeast Missouri State University and attracted more than 800 cheerleaders from Missouri and surrounding states.
The association sponsors the "All American Team" award at each of over 500 workshops held across the United States. The winner were selected on the basis of cheerleading technique, leadership and all-around ability. They are eligible to participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York, Jeep Eagle Aloha Bowl in Hawaii, and St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland.
