"First residents of the development were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Swaim, who moved in Aug. 31, 1993," said Rick Bowzer, public relations director of Chateau Girardeau. A dozen residences are now occupied.

Chateau Estates will eventually have 34 homes. To date, 19 are completed or under construction.

The block party will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
