Donna DeLaney Adams, 39, won the title. She won a preliminary pageant and then won the state title Ms. Missouri.

Adams, who is a radio announcer and program director at radio station KCHR, was also selected "Queen of the Hop" at a '50s party held the night before the pageant. Contestants and their families voted for the queen.

Among awards she received was a 6-foot trophy.

Portions of the pageant were broacast on CNN, the Cable Network News channel.
