CHARLESTON, Mo. -- A Charleston man is in custody after a weekend arrest on kidnapping, sodomy and domestic-assault charges.
Timothy Easton, 47, will be arraigned at 9:15 a.m. today before Mississippi County Associate Judge S. Rob Barker on a felony charges of kidnapping, first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy and second-degree domestic assault.
According to Charleston director of Public Safety Robert Hearnes, an officer was investigating a report of domestic assault Sunday.
"During the investigation, the officer learned that the victim had been held against her will at a residence in Charleston and beaten," Hearnes said. "(Easton) is also alleged to have attempted to force the victim to have sex with him."
Easton was found by officers a short time later and arrested.
Bond is sent at $250,000 cash only. He remained in custody in the Mississippi County Detention Center.
