CHARLESTON HOSTS MARCHING BAND CONTEST ON OCT. 16

CHARLESTON -- The 1993 Southeast Missouri Band Association Marching Contest will be held Oct. 16 in Charleston.

Beginning at 9 a.m., approximately 30 area bands will march through downtown Charleston in the parade competition.

The field show competition begins at 1 p.m. at the John Harris Marshall Athletic Complex.

Admission to the field show contest is $1.50.

Among schools participating Advance, Bell City, Bloomfield, Carbondale, Ill., Caruthersville, Clarkton, Dexter, Greenville, Hayti, North County, Malden, Perryville, Puxico, St. Vincent's, Oran and Charleston.
