SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston couple is awaiting arraignment on drug charges following their arrest Friday.
Tommy Keith Turner, 39, and Raynet Turner, 37, are each charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, the Standard Democrat reported. Both are in custody at the Scott County Jail, with Tommy Turner under a $100,000 cash-only bond and Raynette Turner under a $100,000 cash or surety bond.
The charges stem from a search warrant served around 6:30 a.m. Friday at the couple's home, said Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. The warrant was served by Sikeston's Special Operations Group as part of an ongoing investigation by Sikeston's Narcotics Unit. When the warrant was served, the Turners were inside their home, McMillen said.
"A subsequent search of the residence revealed illegal narcotics in the residence," he said. "Detectives found over a pound of marijuana and nearly 32 grams of crack cocaine," McMillen said.
