Prosecutors dropped theft and trespassing charges against two Southeast Missouri State University students accused of stealing a rival fraternity's goat.

The misdemeanor charges against Joseph F. Nickerson, 21, and Jacob A. Aubuchon, 21, were dropped Wednesday after the pair had completed community service the university required following the Oct. 21 theft of Sigma Chi's goat.

"I felt that the administration's judicial process they'd been through was punishment enough," said Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle.
