Dr. Jean A. Chapman has been conferred as a master of the American College of Physicians at convocation ceremony Thursday at the 76th annual session in Atlanta.

Mastership is the highest level of membership attainable in the American College of Physicians.

Chapman received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in 1953.

In 1959, Chapman settled in Cape Girardeau and combined his love for teaching with a busy internal medicine and allergy practice.

Chapman was elected to a fellowship in 1986. Since 1992, he has been chair of the Missouri chapter's awards committee, as member of the health and public policy committee, and as member of the Missouri ACP Council.

Chapman is the creator and host of "Ask Your Doctor," a weekly call-in talk show, seen on cable access Channel 5.
