A new support group for cancer patients and their families will hold its first meeting Thursday at St. Francis Medical Center.
The group is called CHAMPS (Cancer Help and Management Programs). The group is scheduled to meet twice a month, once in the afternoon and once in the evening.
Thursday's meeting at 3 p.m. will be held in the Womancare/~Cancercare area of St. Francis Medical Center.
St. Francis Oncology Programs Coordinator Jo Clayton-Dodd said the program for the first meeting will be a get-acquainted session.
The second meeting is Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the same location. This program will be given by the staff of the St. Francis Sleep Well Center who will discuss ways to enhance sleep patterns.
