Freeman McCullah, Missouri Highway and Transportation Department District 10 engineer, and Tony Reinhart, vice president of governmental affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, are among key speakers at the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce retreat Friday and Saturday at the Lone Star Natatorium.
Other speakers include Gene Huckstep, Cape Girardeau County Presiding commissioner; Neyland Clark, Cape Girardeau schools superintendent; Kala Stroup, Southeast Missouri State University president; J. Ronald Fischer, Cape Girardeau city manager; and Missouri Rep. Mary Kasten.
A new chairman of the chamber board and other officers will be selected during the retreat, which starts immediately after this week's First Friday Coffee. It gets under way at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Drury Lodge.
Norris Johnson, control room supervisor at Lone Star Industries, will be guest speaker at the coffee, which is sponsored by the chamber's membership committee. Johnson's topic will be "Burning Supplemental Waste Fuels."
Attending the retreat will be the chamber's board of directors and staff.
"Other items to be discussed during the session include short- and long-term goals, budget, and other topics," said Robert Hendrix, president of the local chamber.
