A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of burglaries last week, Chaffee police chief Jim Chambers said in a new release Friday.

Ricky B. Stephens, 17, of Chaffee, Mo., was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted burglary, two counts of second-degree burglary, one count of first-degree burglary and two counts of stealing.

Stephens is being held in the Scott County Jail with a $5,000 cash bond. He will be arraigned this week.

In the news release, Chambers said several sheds, a house and one church were burglarized Tuesday and Wednesday. Several items were reported stolen and windows were broken in another church.
