A residence in Chaffee, Mo. suffered severe heat and smoke damage Wednesday morning after an electrical fire started in the living room.
The Chaffee Fire Department responded to the two-story home on 217 Elliot Street at around 9:15 a.m.
Chief Sam Glency said when crews arrived on scene flames were visible from the front window and there was heavy smoke coming from the attic.
"As far as we can tell it started between a couch and a chair," Glency said.
Although there were flames only in the living room, smoke extended into all areas of the home. Glency said he believes 99 percent of the home's contents are unsalvageable.
The homeowners, Sean and Natalie Kinder, and their children were not injured.
