A Chaffee woman was seriously injured in a one-car accident early Wednesday, said Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Dale Moreland.
Shirley F. Pirtle, 66, was northbound on County Road 205, a mile south of Cape Girardeau, when she lost control of her car, Moreland said.
She then ran off the right side of the road, hit a bridge abutment and overturned in the road, he said.
She was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
There were no passengers in Pirtle's car, Moreland said, and no other cars were involved in the accident.
