Chaffee man injured after car runs into ditch

CHAFFEE, Mo. - A Chaffee man was injured Thursday after a car he was riding in ran off the roadway and into a water-filled ditch.

The accident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on County Road 201, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. A 1997 Chevrolet driven by Dennis L. Lacy, 23, of Cape Girardeau was traveling southbound on the roadway when it lost control and ran off the right side of the road into a ditch.

Lacy was not injured but Alan M. Patrick, 18, was taken by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Both Lacy and Patrick were wearing their seat belt at the time of the accident.
