A Chaffee man was in the intensive-care unit Sunday at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau after a one-vehicle accident near Oran Saturday.
Bobby Nunally was driving his 1993 Chevrolet Blazer on Scott County Road 266 a mile north of Oran when he left the roadway and struck a telephone pole, said Tom Grisham of the Missouri Highway Patrol. The Blazer overturned and Nunally was thrown from the vehicle, Grisham said.
Nunally's daughter, Jessica Nunally, said her father "slammed on his brakes for some reason."
She said he has broken ribs, a punctured lung and surgeons had to remove his spleen. "He is stabilized," she said.
