CHAFFEE, Mo. -- A Chaffee man is in the Scott County Jail on child endangerment and drug-related charges, according to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
Kevin D. White, 39, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
According Walter, deputies were acting on information they received during an investigation, which led them to the White residence in Chaffee. They later searched the residence and discovered what appeared to be a marijuana growing operation. They located components commonly used to grow and consume marijuana, along with a substance believed to be marijuana, inside the residence. During the investigation, police said, White admitted that he smoked marijuana in the presence of his three children.
