A driver for MFA Oil was killed Tuesday morning when he lost control of the tanker truck he was driving. The accident happened on Route KK in northern Cape Girardeau County, about three miles west of Interstate 55. The driver of the truck ran off the road, overcorrected, then crossed the road and overturned, according to accident investigators. Hamm, 58, of Chaffee, Mo., a driver for MFA Oil was killed Tuesday morning when he lost control of the tanker truck he was driving. The accident happened around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday about three miles west of Interstate 55. The driver of the truck ran off the road, overcorrected, then crossed the road and overturned, according to accident investigators. The driver was wearing a seat belt, but was pinned inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The truck was almost empty, so there was no fuel spill.
