CHAFFEE -- A Chaffee man is dead following an automobile accident Monday that injured three others, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol at Poplar Bluff.
James Mack, 25, was killed after the car he was driving crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on, the patrol said. Mack was in a 1991 Ford with another unknown person traveling west on Route A in Scott County. They were traveling about one-and-a-half miles east of Chaffee when the accident occurred at about 9:05 p.m. Monday, the patrol said.
The unknown second person sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital by helicopter.
The other car involved was driven by John Green, 36, of Charleston. He reported minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Solomon Jones, 29, of Charleston, was a passenger in that car and reported moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital, the patrol said.
