BENTON, Mo. -- A Chaffee man who has been under investigation since early this year has been arrested and charged with 11 counts of possession of child pornography.
According to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department, James A. Stewart, 31, was arrested Thursday and placed in the Scott County Jail after the investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Southeast Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force found he was allegedly downloading child pornography from the Internet. Authorities said a search of his home turned up a computer with multiple video segments depicting child pornography.
Each count is a class B felony. Stewart's bond is set at $25,000 cash-only.
