CHAFFEE COUNCIL HOLDS BRIEF MEETING

CHAFFEE - The Chaffee City Council sprinted through its business agenda Monday night.

In a meeting that lasted 15 to 20 minutes, the council:

Approved amendment of an ordinance establishing a monthly or semi-monthly salary for City Administrator Reece Brown just as with other city employees. The ordinance sets Brown's salary at $13,000 a year.

Authorized payment of an $8,260 bill to S.H. Smith Consulting Engineers & Surveyors for the city's waste-water plant improvements. The council also approved payment of a $406.95 bill to the firm for surveying charges for a waterline easement on the west side of town by Highway 77.

Approved a liquor-by-the-drink license for the Chaffee Veterans of Foreign Wars Post for New Year's Eve.

Approved construction of an enclosure for the furnace at the city water plant. The cost will be about $700.
