SIKESTON -- The 15th annual Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Telethon will be held this weekend.

It will begin with a reception and dinner Friday night at the Sikeston Eagles Club. The reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. A dance will follow. Tickets are $100 per couple.

The telethon itself will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Sikeston High School Field House and run until 10 p.m. It will resume Sunday at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.

The telethon will feature 20 hours of entertainment, headlined by Barbara Fairchild. She will be joined on Sunday by the gospel group, The Easters.

Event chairman Mike Wilson said the telethon will include an auction, craft booths and local talent.

There is no admission charge, but those who attend will be asked to make a pledge.

Also slated for the weekend is a baseball card show at the Ramada Inn on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A magic show will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Ramada Inn.

The telethon will be broadcast on cable access channels.
