CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Central High School Future Business Leaders of America captured top honors at a district leadership conference recently hosted by Cape Central.
The CHS team won the district title and traveling trophy for its performance.
Winners were: Jon Robinson, first, public speaking; Cheri Scherer, first, short hand, second, machine transcription; Joy Todd, first, job description manual; Frankie Dietiker, first, computer applications for business; Keith Johnson, first, business law, fifth, business calculations; Josh Hogan, first, economics; Chrissy McCart, first, information processing concepts; and Jane Thorpe was named Ms. FBL.
The entrepreneurship team consisting of Jane Thorpe, Bryan Tilly and Kevin Pikey placed first.
Aimee Sanders and Bryan Tilly, first, poster event; Fred Ruddy, second, Mr. FBL, third, impromptu speaking; Jennifer Kopf, second, business law; Shawn McClain, second, business math; Aimee Sanders, second, office procedures; Beth Ann Ogborn, second, job interview; Steve Logel, third, accounting II and business calculations; Amanda Ing, third, introduction to business; Kim Knoth, fourth, advanced keyboarding applications, and Anna Fornkahl, fifth, business English.
First- and second-place winners advance to state competition in Jefferson City April 4-6. State winners advance to national competition in Anaheim, Calif.
