Cape Central High School presented awards and named graduating seniors who had been awarded scholarships from all of the United States at a recent assembly.
The combined value of the scholarships awarded to Cape Central seniors exceeded $1 million.
The winners of Southeast Missouri State University scholarships were: Chris Robertson, Governor's scholarship; Jessica Hogan, Shelley Holyfield, Kamilla Myrick and Chad Reimann, all were awarded a Regents Scholarship; Anna Fornkahl, Kristine Jackson, Cheryl Kluesner, Laura Krone, Summer Majors, Rebecca Rigdon, Gautam Rohatgi, Joanna Seres and Casey Sheehan, all were awarded the President's Scholarship; Wenke Buttl and Christian Kaplicki, the Regents International Scholarship; Laura Krone, Chad Reimann and Gautam Rohatgi received the Missouri Leadership Award; Alexis Anthony, Traci Baker and Jennifer Kafka received music scholarships.
Sandy Bounds received the St. Louis College of Pharmacy President's Scholarship and Faculty Memorial Scholarship.
Laura Ford received the Southwest Baptist University Dean's Scholarship.
Winners of scholarships at Northeast Missouri State University were: Carol Rene Robinson and Jennifer Worth, the President's Combined Ability Scholarship and the President's Honorary Scholarship; and Carol Rene Robinson, Merit Scholarship.
Recipients of scholarships from the University of Missouri-Columbia were: Andy Dial and Mandi McCoy, Curators Scholarship; Scott Hopper, Scott Johnson and Brian Sirimaturos, Excellence Award Scholarship; Sally Taylor, Scholars Award Scholarship; and Luke Dry, Kenneth Ray Heath Memorial Scholarship.
Brandi Peterson received the William Jewell College Faculty Scholarship.
Takara Stanley received the National Merit Scholarship from Harvard University.
Jennifer Martin received the Competitive Act Scholarship and the Family Association Award Scholarship from Union University.
Kyle Chasteen received the Guaranteed Scholarship from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Alyssa Browning received the Rhodes College University Scholarship.
Teresa Paikeday received the University Scholarship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Amy Garrison, Sarah Gischer and Michelle Morris received scholarships from Stage One-The Hair School.
Clayton Hahs received a four-year scholarship at the Naval Academy.
Matthew Jackson and William Ryan Woods received four-year scholarships to West Point Military Academy.
Charlotte Balsamo received a Navy ROTC Scholarship.
Mandi McCoy received the Procter & Gamble Scholarship.
Chad Reimann received the Aid Association for Lutherans All-College Scholarship.
Tim Arbeiter received the CTA Teacher Education Scholarship.
Aaron Bruening and Kelly Russell were awarded the "I Dare You" Leadership Award.
Mandi McCoy and Clayton Hahs were given the Lions' Club Outstanding Student Awards.

Other subject awards were presented to Susan Byrum, Angie Fulton and Laura Ford, for Lifeskills; Takara Stanley, Mathematics; Summer Majors and Kyle Chasteen, Physical Education. The Female Athlete of the Year (Darla Panier Award) was presented to Cristy Bailey.
Music awards were presented to Jennifer Kafka and Chris Redfearn, Vocal; Joanna Seres, Orchestra; Traci Baker and J.J. Haycraft, Band; and Traci Baker, Jazz Band. The Bill Ewing Memorial Jazz Award and Scholarship was given to Traci Baker. The Phil Cloud/Rick Samuel Scholarship was presented to Jennifer Kafka; the Elizabeth Bahn Music Award was given to Josh Miller.
The Lou Muegge Award was presented to Eric Vogt.
Mandi McCoy received the Science Award. In Social Studies awards were presented to Sara Fletcher, World History; Kim Pulley, American History; and Takara Stanley, Social Studies Award.
Special Services awards were presented to Sheila Long and Lance Cassoutt, who supervised the work study program at the high school.
Courtesy Awards were presented to Cary Dunavan, Jennie Lukens, Stan Seabaugh, Kristi Thompson, Tim Arbeiter and Sandy Bounds.
Missouri Scholars Academy winners were Jeremy Freeman and Jeff Riley.
