CENTRAL POOL EXPANDS HOURS FOR LABOR DAY

The Central Municipal Swimming Pool will be open for expanded hours over the Labor Day weekend.

Randy Barnhouse, Cape Girardeau's aquatics director, said the Central pool will be open from 4-7 on Friday and from 1-8 p.m. Saturday through Monday.

Capaha Pool will remain closed over the holiday weekend.

Barnhouse said Central Pool also will close Sept. 7-18 to enable workers to erect the pool's bubble. The "Early Bird" and noon swim times will be available at Capaha Pool while Central is closed.

He said he hopes to have the bubble up and pool reopened Sept. 18. Once the pool reopens, the hours will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 5-8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
