The Cape Girardeau Central High School Marching Band is scheduled to compete Oct. 26 in the Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival at Busch Stadium.

About 50 of the state's most honored high school bands will compete at the festival, which begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to last until 10:30 p.m.

The Cape Central band competed in the festival last year,and placed second overall in its division.

Central's Kyle West was also named outstanding drum major at last year's competition.

The festival is now in its 20th year. Judges for the Oct. 26 competition represent the U.S. Marine's Drum & Bugle Corps, Augustana College in South Dakota, the University of Illinois, Rice University in Houston, Texas, Indiana University and the University of Texas- Arlington.

Tickets for the competition are $6 for adults and $2 for students. There is a 50 percent discount on tickets for student groups over 25. For ticket information, contact Burnes & Associates at (314) 832-7534.
