David Mamet's "American Buffalo" is a dark comedy focusing on three crooks in a junk shop plotting to steal a coin collection. The ensuing action holds a magnifying glass to the effects of greed and competitiveness in the capitalist system.

The Colby players competed with 36 schools and 80 productions to qualify for the regional festival. Other finalists are Middlebury College, Wellesley College, Harvard University, Boston University and the University of Massachusetts.

The winners will compete nationally at the Kennedy Center in Washington.
