The National Park Service at Ozark National Scenic Riverways is making plans to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corps at Big Spring State Park on Saturday.
The all-day event includes opportunities for the public to listen, learn and experience what it was like to be a CCC enrollee.
Booths and displays will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A program will be held at 1 p.m. with speakers and re-enactors. It will culminate with the planting of a commemorative walnut tree. Toward the end of the day, there will be a guided walking tour of the Big Spring Lodge and rental cabins.
