ST. LOUIS -- Henry Shaw's 200th Birthday Celebration will be held July 22-24 at the Missouri Botanical Garden.
In addition to founding the Missouri Botanical Garden and Tower Grove Park, Shaw contributed to and influenced the Missouri Historical Society, Washington University and more than a dozen other local organizations.
Admission is free to the birthday party. Guests will receive free tours of Tower Grove House and the garden's Victorian areas. There will be children's activities, live music by Botanical Brass, and croquet on the lawn.
The party will take place from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 22, from noon-3 p.m. July 23 and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 24. The garden is located at 4344 Shaw Boulevard.
