The Park Hills Daily Journal reported that the 9-month-old cat was warming up on or near the engine of her owner's truck Sunday morning. Mike Widdows of Farmington didn't know, started the truck and took off to pick up his 14-year-old son, Johnathan, from his grandmother's house.

After the 40-mile round trip, Johnathan heard a faint cry under the hood. The cat was trembling, traumatized and bleeding.

It turned out Nyan had nothing but a few cuts and scrapes. The family says the cat is showing no signs of injury.
