HAYTI, Mo. -- The Caruthersville Humane Society is offering a reward for information regarding a cat that was set on fire Wednesday night in or around the 200 block of East Jackson Street in Hayti, according to a news release from the Humane Society.
The $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the person or persons who set the cat on fire.
Hayti animal control officer Ricky Hooper contacted Karol Wilcox, president and investigator for the Caruthersville Humane Society. The Humane Society had Hooper transport the cat to a veterinarian where it died as a result of its injuries.
