The cases against three men suspected in a string of burglaries this spring continue to wind their way through Cape Girardeau County Circuit Court.
In May, authorities charged Steven Johnson and Xavier Canada of Cape Girardeau and Marcus Canada of Marked Tree, Ark., in connection with at least three burglaries in and around Cape Girardeau.
Marcus Canada is set for an Oct. 16 jury trial on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm stemming from the case, and Xavier Canada is scheduled for an Oct. 22 jury trial on a charge of second-degree burglary, online court records show.
Meanwhile, Steven Johnson was scheduled for a case review Monday on charges of second-degree burglary, stealing a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of receiving stolen property, but online court records show the case was continued to Sept. 9 because of an attorney conflict.
Police have said the men are believed to have been responsible for a May 7 burglary on Cape Rock Drive.
Officers released photos taken from surveillance videos in hopes of identifying the suspects in that case.
